ALISON LOUKEH & ASSOCIATES
Services
We work with water purveyors to provide water efficiency services and classes, communications, and education. Unless otherwise noted, prices are based on client requirements and typically charged on a per hour basis.

Non Functional Turf/Regulations
Commercial, Industrial, and Institutional Customers
CII accounts are arguably the most difficult water customers to reach. With the new non-functional turf (NFT) regulations as well as the upcoming water-use regulations, there is no time to lose. We currently work with numerous HOA's and public agencies to transform turf to a native/drought tolerant landscape. This includes meeting with customers/landscapers, assisting with rebates, and attending meetings to explain regulatory requirements as directed by the client.

Residential Customers
Residential water-use reductions will be necessary for most water purveyors to meet the new requirements. This can be accomplished through several methods including turf replacement and rebate assistance, canvassing, and selective outreach that targets high users. Most residential customers need assistance through this process to be successful.

Writing
It is always a wonderful time to engage residents and businesses. We offer writing on the following subjects:
Newsletters
Planning Documents
Blogs
Curriculum Design and Development

Education
Landscape Classes
Customers want to reduce their landscape water use but lack the information to get started or complete a project. Let your agency be the hero and offer them assistance. Classes are 2-3 hours in length and tailored to the agencies needs and geographical area. Available in person or “zoom” format on a variety of subjects including design, fire scaping, slopes, pet friendly landscapes, plant selection, and maintenance. Please see Landscape Class page for a complete list.

Composting Workshops
Senate Bill 1383 passed in 2016 creating new regulations for state and local governments. This includes education about the importance of composting. To assist local governmental agencies with this mandate, we offer a composting class that meets the educational requirements. Covered topics are legislation, the types and benefits of composting, and how to get started.

Water-Use Workshops
Designed to answer customer questions about the drought, regulations, and how that will be applicable to the customer, this workshop is tailored to the agency’s needs and water supply. Typically 1-2 hours in length, an overview is given about the agency, regulations, and ways to save water. A question-and-answer period ends the workshop.
K-12 Education
Educating children is the easiest way to plan for future water needs. We offer presentations for every grade that are California Content Standards based and include EEI Principles and Concepts.
Teacher Workshops
Curriculum is available that applies to Biology, Chemistry and Physics as well as Career Technical Education (CTE). Teachers often have solid science skills but lack water industry knowledge; these two-day workshops can bridge the gap. The full curriculum can be found here.
